About this site

Greeley’s — The Evansville Report is an independent local news publication covering Evansville-area government, business, development, public safety, sports, events, and community life.

The name reaches back to Greeley’s Restaurant, established in downtown Evansville in 1987 by broadcaster, promoter and entrepreneur Larry Aiken. Aiken named the restaurant for Horace Greeley, the influential 19th-century newspaper editor and publisher. The restaurant operated in Old Post Office Place on NW Second Street, across from the former home of the Evansville Courier.

Today, Greeley’s carries that local name into a new chapter: reporting what is happening in Evansville and continuing to follow the story until residents know what happened next.

We don't just report the first headline—we stay with the story until the community knows what happens next.

Local stories. Followed through.
